Faculty Introduction

Aikoku Gakuen University is a four-year women’s university consisting of a single faculty — the Faculty of Human Culture — and its Department of Human Culture.
The department offers four majors and a flexible curriculum that allows students to explore a wide range of fields, including Japanese language and history, tourism, food culture, welfare, psychology, environmental studies, community development, regional engagement, the SDGs, business management, accounting, ICT, and data science.

A variety of courses provide opportunities to explore the Japanese language, culture, and traditions, as well as contemporary society.
Students can deepen their understanding of Japan through both academic study and hands-on experiences — from tea ceremony and flower arrangement to pop culture and everyday aspects of Japanese life.

Japanese Language Support: From Basics to the N1 Level

Our university offers Japanese language support courses that help international students build their skills step by step — from strengthening basic foundations to achieving advanced proficiency.
Through these courses, students can develop the comprehensive Japanese ability needed for academic study and daily life, aiming to reach the JLPT N1 level.

Throughout the year, students organize and participate in various activities. They can join existing clubs or start new ones, and the annual university festival, the Nadeshiko Festival, attracts not only students but also many local residents.

For international students eligible for a tuition reduction, the total payment for the first year is 920,000 yen.

When You Need Advice

  • Student Counseling Room
  • Online Counseling System

First- and second-year students are assigned class advisors who support them until they join a seminar (research group) in the third year. Faculty members also hold office hours so students can easily ask questions or seek advice.
Several faculty and administrative staff members are available in the Counseling Room to provide support and advice to students.
A dedicated email address is also provided, so students who find it difficult to talk in person can feel comfortable reaching out.
Students may also receive online counseling from external professional counselors.

Other Support

The campus provides a Wi-Fi-equipped student hall, International Exchange Room, and University Library. Guidance sessions and first-year education programs help students adjust smoothly and progress steadily in their studies.
